Description

This course is designed to take the student who has completed ACLS to the next level. Beyond the basics includes is a single day course which covers topics, simulations and practicals on the following:

  • Defibrillation Strategies and Refractory VF/VT
  • Resuscitation in awkward spaces and environments
  • Airway and ventilation in cardiac arrest
  • Advanced pharmacology concepts and ideas
  • Prognostication in cardiac arrest
  • Leadership and follow-ship
  • Debriefing like a boss

We use a blended learning interaction to ensure the student leaves feeling capable and empowered to think outside the box and become the best resuscitationst they can be.

You can expect challenging simulations, table-top case discussions, practical stations to master the skills presented and debrief practice.

Requirements:

  • ACLS current (a current ACLS card must be submitted with the application)
  • ACLS EP would be helpful but not compulsory to attend the course

The course can be bolted on to either a 2 day ACLS course or a 1 day ACLS update course.

CPD Points: 9 clinical and 1 ethics CPD points
